The Generals at Serna Plaza

UNIQUE is once again about to put on another mind-blowing event; this Wednesday afternoon at 12:00 pm The Generals will be playing at Serna Plaza with and expected crowd of 100 to 200 students for the weekly Nooner event.

Like most artist that preform during the Nooner, The Gererals are a local band from Sacramento comprising of Matt Sertich and Kirk Janowiak. These two talented guys got the start in 2005. As told by Anna Ritner, "The General's were born in Janowiak's kitchen as a studio project purposed to re-imagine and reinstitute the sound - a climactic, soaring hybrid of modern programming and classic rock riffs."

While listening to their album, you would never guess that Matt and Kirk were the only members of the band. For being short a few members, Ritner believes they are known for "delivering a live show that lays it all on the line and commands as much attention as a five-piece ensemble."

Zenia Diokno, Program Advisor for UNIQUE; says that the Nooner events are ment to be chill events where you can sit on the grass, bring your lunch and get some sun between classes. "We want these events to be a nice break between classes."

UNIQUE is a program based out of the University Union for the sole purpose of "getting students involved on campus. WE like being able to offer free events. but when we have to charge we make it affordable for students" says Zenia Diokno. Zenia knows what it is like being a student, she is a CSUS alumnus who volunteered for four years as a student and has now been a full time staff member for three years.

Make sure to check out UNIQUES weekly Nooner's for great local artists just like The Generals.
